Based in Melbourne, Erin Absalom is a bright and dramatic emerging Mezzo Soprano. Described as a “strong and compelling voice,” she has brought some of operas most loved narratives and characters to life. Highlights include Phoebe Merryl (Yeomen of the Guard), Carmen (Carmen), Orlovsky (Die Fledermaus), Iphigénie (Iphigénie en Tauride), The Monitress/Suor Tourière (Suor Angelica), Charlotte (Werther), Tessa (The Gondoliers), Kate (Pirates of Penzance), Zita (Gianni Schicchi) and La Frugola (Il Tabarro).
Erin is a graduate of Monash University, where she received an Honours Degree in Music Performance, having previously completed a Bachelor of Arts/ Music (Performance). She has featured as a soloist with the Australian Contemporary Opera Company, Gertude Opera, the Brisbane Symphony Festival Orchestra, BK Opera, Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Victoria, The Savoy Opera Company Inc., Stonington City Brass, Cordelia’s Potted Operas, the ACU Chamber Choir, Mordent Productions and the Sir Zelman Cowan School of Music at Monash University. She has also performed in the chorus with Melbourne Opera and Victorian Opera.
Erin is currently studying her Masters of Opera Performance at the University of Melbourne’s Conservatorium of Music.
